Alberta Aviation Museum Interpretive Signage
I was a Summer Graphic Designer & Illustrator at the Alberta Aviation museum in 2022. I worked on the visitor map, children's programming visuals, and the interpretive signage in the museum.
The museum's interpretive signs were in need of a revamp. I worked with the museum curator to take existing proposed style and branding for the AAM and adapt it to a new system for signage across the museum. The result is a retro sign with a scrapbook influence, showcasing historical images and charts while retaining a high readability for visitors.
Because my placement at the museum was short, I was only able to complete one sign, for the Tiger Moth. It was developed as a template with a full grid and typography system, that was later used by the curator to update signage across the museum.
My favourite part of designing this sign was getting my hands on aircraft user and assembly manuals to scan for each sign's subtle black-on-gray background!
