WEM Wayfinding Analysis & Improvement

For an environmental design course, we teamed up in pairs to analyse the wayfinding of a large and complex  Edmonton building or facility, and find room for improvement. My teammate Kayla A. and I tackled the West Edmonton Mall.

This project was completed over the course of several weeks in early 2021, at the height of COVID-19 public  health restrictions. As such, the wayfinding inside the mall was drastically affected by social distancing measures and restricted visitor capacity. Our project tackled the way these additional  measures affect the wayfinding experience.

Finally, we picked one area with the most room for improvement and impemented our own solution.

Note: This project is for educational purposes only and is  neither affiliated nor endorsed by the West Edmonton Mall.
